Episode 13 - Mercy Ships

After a long hiatus, the On The Shore podcast is back. Kevin talks to three volunteers who spent time in Madagascar with Mercy Ships. Laura Ann, Courtney and Laura may all come from different continents but they all have many things in common. Listen to them speak about their experiences onboard the hospital ship. The episode finishes with You're Still God by Philippa Hanna. A huge thanks goes out to Dave Lee for helping with the audio production.

Episode 12 - Streaming Services

Kevin is joined by the minister, Rev Calum Iain Macleod, to discuss the recent changes that the coronavirus restrictions have forced us into in terms of Sunday services and prayer meetings. The church has set up a YouTube channel and now meets using Jitsi. The episode is then finished off with a song by the former Third Day front man Mac Powell with the track Heave

Episode 11 - Persecution Turns to Joy

In episode 11 Kevin takes a look at some encouraging stories from the persecuted church (article 1, article 2, article 3), including an article from International Christian Concern regarding the church in Iraq. At this time where the Coronavirus has had a serious effect on the majority of the world, it is important to remember that it is all in God's plan, nothing is a surprise to Him and He is still at work in our world. Episode 10 - Coronavirus Closes Churches

The On The Shore podcast is rebooted after a 10 month break. With a new, slightly reduced format we hope to be producing shows on a more regular basis. In this episode the minister speaks of the recent church closures due to the Coronavirus. There is still worship tracks included with a traditional psalm singing in Psalm 91 and a modern Christian track: Ryan Stevenson - In the Eye of the Storm.

Episode 9

On The Shore Podcast returns for it's ninth episode, hosted by Kevin. In this episode we continue to highlight the plight of the persecuted church and take a look at the country of Afghanistan. There is a book review of a classic piece of Christian work by William Gurnall: The Christian in Complete Armour. Episode 8

In this Christmas themed edition of the On The Shore Podcast, Kevin takes a look at Christian persecution in China, where a leading pastor has been arrested but managed to smuggle a letter out of prison to his congregation (read the whole letter here). Fiona joins the show to update the listeners about the how the Lord is working in both the Campaigners and the Sunday School. Following a recommendation from Rev Murdo Macleod, Kevin does a book review of The Bruised Reed by Richard Sibbes. Episode 7

After a lengthy delay, On The Shore returns for the seventh episode. Kevin is joined by Fiona for an update on Campaigners and Sunday School along with a review of the Free Church's new Sing Psalms mobile phone app. Paul Hammond (follow him on Twitter and Facebook) speaks about Video Gaming in an extract taken from Talking Point on UCB1 (a huge thanks to him for letting us play this). Episode 1

The first episode of the new church podcast titled On The Shore is avialable for download. In this episode, hosted by Kevin, we have a talk with some representitives from the Campaigners, Sunday School and Women for Mission(WfM) groups. Along with a few words from the minister and some community news. There is also a prayer request sent through Open Doors UK by the Christian church in Syria and a devotional message from the UCB Word For You.
