Formal Approval to Call a Minister
The Interim Moderator has now received confirmation from the Mission Board that the congregation’s application to call a minister has now been formally approved. It is worth noting that Board members were impressed with our Development Plan. This is very is encouraging and we must pray for the Lord’s guidance as we move forward.
Vacancy Committee Update
After having contacted all Ministers brought up by members and adherents of the congregation, here are the responses we have received.
Ministers who have agreed to preach in the coming weeks/months:
Rev. Alasdair Macaulay (Tain & Fearn), Rev. Calum Macmillan (Rosskeen), Rev. Calum I Macleod (Ferintosh), Rev. Andrew Coghill (Scalpay), Rev. Alan Shearer (Dunblane), Rev. Hugh Ferrier (High Free), Rev Paul Murray (Kinloch) and Mr Scott Macleod (final year Student).
These men will preach in the congregation over the coming weeks and months.
In the meantime, we encourage the congregation to remember the following:
• Pray for the men who are due to come and preach - that they would have liberty as the prepare and preach, and that they would have a heart for God's work in Lochs, if it is God's will.
• Pray for those who have declined to preach, that they will have peace with the decision they have come to or that God would challenge them to come and preach with us, if it is His will.
• Continue to be a praying people as we go through this vacancy period.
• Encourage members and adherents to continue to bring potential names of ministers to the Vacancy Committee for us to then approach.
• Pray for Rev. C I Macleod as he leaves the Manse. Pray for the family as a whole and their future.
• Pray for Rev. Hugh Ferrier, his family and his own congregation as they continue to support us through this vacancy period.
Finally, please speak to any members of the Vacancy Committee if you have any questions or would like to suggest any further names.
Encouraging Women
Over the next few weeks, all women connected with the congregation are invited to meet very informally, so as to get to know each other better and to encourage each other in knowing the Lord, whatever our age or situation in life. An initial two month trial period over May/June will help us identify -
(a) what women across the congregation would find helpful and encouraging as we move forward after the summer holiday period, and
(b) how we might, over time, connect with the wider community.
Since personal/work commitments vary, and since we want everyone to feel involved, there are three time options over this May/June period - morning, afternoon, or evening.

Sound and Computer Help

Without any volunteers for this important duty then services will not be streamed and microphones will not work during these week day services.
